Samerica: Experiencing Life the Samerican Way

30 Places No One Can Die Without Seeing

Picture
Having just started working, it's now very easy to see how millions of people can be trapped by their jobs. Seeing new places, meeting new people, and experiencing new cultures can be one of the greatest joys in life simply because it is an escape from the everyday. From Peru to China to Iceland, the world has more to offer than what can be seen on the commute or what can be done at a desk.

There is no doubt that many people are happy with their jobs; and there are those who take pride in the work they accomplish day after day. However, the memories people make for themselves are timeless. Without risking, learning, and confronting the fear of a disc-skip lifestyle, most will struggle to maintain the freshness of life.

Below are 30 places--some  of which I have visited, most of which I aspire to visit--that are sure to inspire.

  • Faroe Islands, Denmark  - So far, the Faroe Islands are the most beautiful place I have ever been. Situated between Norway and Iceland, the Faroe Islands are culturally enriching to say the least. One of the days I was there was spent catching Puffins, cooking them, and eating them with cake frosting. Delicious! Oh, and there was no cutlery involved. In such a quiet, peaceful place, the people there could not be more friendly and hospitable. I could spend days writing about my trip, but you are just going to have to go.
  • Machu Picchu, Peru - Yes. I decided not to put this first on the list. In a Google search of "most beautiful places," Machu Picchu is noted first in just about every result. It is sure to be one of, if not the most, popular places in the world. Leading into the valley is the Inca Trail, a two day hike full of plants, animals, and ruins. On the trail alone, about 250 orchid species have been recorded. Such hidden, pristine beauty cannot be ignored.
  • Grand Canyon, Arizona - 6 million years in the making, the Grand Canyon is one of the greatest natural wonders Earth has to offer.
  • Great Wall of China - There are myths that the Great Wall of China can be seen from space. While these might just be myths, the grandeur of the barricade is something anyone should behold with their own two eyes.
  • Hallstatt, Austria - This lakeside town is one of the more beautiful places I have seen online. That sounds lame, I know. But look at the pictures and you'll instantly see why it's on this list.
